Fishing on Fishtrap Lake

A WDFW managed rainbow trout lake.

Fishtrap Lake is stocked each year with both fry and catchable trout, supporting a healthy carryover population of trophy rainbow trout (reaching up to 26 inches!). It's the favorite spot for anglers looking to enjoy a day of hard-fighting rainbow trout.

While everyone has their own opinion on the best time to fish, we like to stick with our founder's simple wisdom: "Folks, you can't catch a fish if your line's not in the water!"

Bird Watching

Wood Ducks, Goldfinches, and Hummingbirds are just a few of the common species found here!

Each season, our area becomes a resting stop for swans, geese, and a variety of waterfowl as they make their journey south for the winter. Out on the water, it's common to see eagles, osprey, and other birds of prey scanning for their food in the water.

8,000 Acres of Wildlife

Miles of lakefront trails and wildflower fields.

Our Park is located next to 8,000 acres of Bureau of Land Management ground, featuring miles of lakefront trails, wildlife viewing and wild flower fields. In the spring, a short hike away, there is a stunning waterfall at Hog Lake. With so much to do and so much to see, you'll never want to leave!
